Vitamin AD3E solution for injection
ACTIVE SUBSTANCE AND EXCIPIENT CONTENT
Active substances: Vitamin A 1 500 000 IU/100 ml Cholecalciferol (Vitamin D3) 2 000 000IU/100 ml Alpha Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E) 1.0g/100 ml Excipients: Chlorocresol, Sunflower Oil
In hypovitaminosis А, D and E ; in gastrointestinal and pulmonary diseases; in muscle dystrophy in lambs and calves; in spermatogenic disturbances in breeding animals; to increase resistance of young animals against infectious and invasive diseases; in osteomalacia.
Do not use in case of hypersensitivity to the active substances or some of the excipients. Do not use in animals for which the product is not intended.
Intramuscular injections may cause a transient pain at the site of injection. The frequency of the adverse reactions is determined by the following classification: – very common (more than 1 in 10 animals displaying adverse reactions during the course of one treatment) – common (more than 1 but less than 10 out of 100 animals) – uncommon (more than 1 but less than 10 out of 1,000 animals) – rare (more than 1 but less than 10 out of 10,000 animals) – very rare (less than 1 out of 10,000 animals including isolated reports). If you notice any serious or other side effects caused by the use of this veterinary medicinal product not listed in this leaflet, please inform immediately your veterinarian.
ANIMAL SPECIES FOR WHICH THE VETERINARY MEDICINAL PRODUCT IS INTENDED
Cattle, sheep, goats, horses, swine and pigs.
DOSAGE FOR EACH ANIMAL SPECIES, METHOD AND ROUTE OF ADMINISTRATION
Intramuscular, subcutaneous or oral administration. Animal species Intramuscular or subcutaneous, ml Oral (drops), number of drops Cattle, buffaloes and horses 3 – 5 10 – 12 Calves, young horses and buffalo-calves 0.5 – 1 3 – 5 Sheep and goats 1 – 1.5 2 – 4 Swine 1 – 2 3 – 6 Pigs 0.25 – 0.5 1 – 3 Doses may be increased up to 3-fold for therapeutic purposes. For prophylaxis, parenteral administration of a single dose is required. If needed, a repeated dose should be administered in a week.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR PROPER USE
Always use Vitamin AD3E solution for injection exactly as your veterinarian has told you. Check with your veterinarian if you are not sure.
Keep out of the sight and reach of children . Store below 25 C Protect from light. Store in dry places. Do not use this veterinary medicine after the expiry date which is stated on the label. Shelf life after first opening: 28 days. Store in refrigerator (2 C – 8 C).
Interaction with other veterinary medicinal products and other forms of interaction: The presence of non-saturated fatty acids reduce the absorption of vitamins A and D3. Vitamin E may increase the absorption of vitamin A. Large doses of vitamin E reduce the effect of iron in anaemic animals. The mineral oil may reduce the absorption of orally administered vitamin E. Overdosage (symptoms, emergency measures, antidotes if required) Symptoms of overdose may include: anxiety, loss of appetite, vomiting. Measures in case of overdose: Treatment should be discontinued and symptomatic treatment initiated.
SPECIAL PRECAUTIONS FOR DISPOSAL OF ANY UNUSED PRODUCT OR WASTE MATERIAL
Do not throw away any veterinary medicines via wastewater or household waste. Ask your veterinarian how to throw away veterinary medicines you no longer use. These measures will help protect the environment.
