Antiparasitic solution for external use in cats weighing up to 4 kg.
Box with 3 pipettes, each of which is 0.4 ml and contains active substances:
Imidacloprid 40 mg
Moxidectin 4 mg
If your cat weighs over 4 kg, you must use the Moxiclear 80 mg/8 mg product.
Cats:
For parasitized cats and cats at risk of mixed parasitic invasions:
• treatment and prevention of flea infestation (Ctenocephalides felis),
• treatment of ear mite infestation (Otodectes cynotis),
• treatment of notoedric mange caused by Notoedres cati,
• prevention of heartworm disease (L3 and L4 larvae of Dirofilaria immitis),
• treatment of invasions caused by gastrointestinal nematodes (L4 larvae, immature adults, and adults of Toxocara cati and Ancylostoma tubaeforme).
The product can be used as part of the flea allergy dermatitis (FAD) therapeutic strategy.
Ferrets:
For parasitized ferrets and ferrets at risk of mixed parasitic invasions:
• treatment and prevention of flea infestation (Ctenocephalides felis),
• prevention of heartworm disease (L3 and L4 larvae of Dirofilaria immitis).
Dosage and application:
The recommended minimum doses are 10 mg/kg body weight imidacloprid and 1.0 mg/kg body weight moxidectin, corresponding to the veterinary medicinal product’s 0.1 ml/kg body weight.
For external use only. Remove the pipette from the sachet immediately before use. Remove the pipette from the sachet, using scissors or folding along the diagonal line to expose the cut to tear back. Hold the pipette upright. Tap the thin part of the pipette to ensure its contents are in the main body. Twist or snap back the tip. Part the fur on the animal’s back at the base of the neck in front of the shoulder blades until the skin is visible. Place the tip of the pipette on the skin and squeeze it several times to empty its contents directly onto the skin at one point. Applying the product to the nape at the base of the skull will reduce the chance of the animal licking off the undried product. Apply only to healthy, undamaged skin.
Treatment and prevention of flea infestation (Ctenocephalides felis):
A single treatment protects against further infestation for 4 weeks. Existing environmental cocoons may continue to emerge for six or more weeks after starting treatment or prophylaxis, depending on climatic conditions. Therefore, combining treatment with a veterinary medicinal product with environmental treatment aimed at breaking their life cycle is advisable. This can lead to a rapid reduction in environmental population. The product should be applied at monthly intervals when used as part of a therapeutic strategy for flea allergy dermatitis.
Treatment of ear mite infestation (Otodectes cynotis):
A single dose of the veterinary medicinal product is applied. An additional control examination is recommended 30 days after treatment, as some animals may require retreatment. Do not apply directly into the ear canal.
Treatment of notoedric mange caused by Notoedres cati:
A single dose of the product is applied.
Prevention against heartworm disease (Dirofilaria immitis):
Cats living in areas endemic for heartworm or those who have travelled to endemic zones may be infected with adult forms of heartworm. Therefore, before deciding on treatment with a veterinary medicinal product, consider the advice outlined in the section for preventing disease. The product should be applied at regular monthly intervals during the period of the year when mosquitoes (intermediate hosts that carry and transmit heartworm larvae) are present. The product can be applied all year round or at least one month before the first expected invasion and mosquito bites. Treatment should continue at regular monthly intervals until one month after the last risk of mosquito bites. To establish routine medical practice, it is recommended that treatment be performed on the same date each month.
Treatment of roundworm (nematode) and hookworm infestation (Toxocara cati and Ancylostoma tubaeforme):
In areas endemic to heartworms, monthly treatment can significantly reduce the risk of reinvasion caused by corresponding roundworms (nematodes) and hookworms. In non-endemic areas for heartworm, the product could be used as part of a seasonal prophylactic program against fleas and gastrointestinal nematodes.
Contraindications:
Do not use it on cats under 9 weeks of age.
Do not use in case of hypersensitivity to active substances or any excipients.
Do not use Moxiclear for large cats (0.8 ml) or Moxiclear for dogs (all sizes) in ferrets.
For dogs, use the corresponding product, “Moxiclear for Dogs,” which contains 100 mg/ml imidacloprid and 25 mg/ml moxidectin.
Do not use in canaries.
