Do You Need a Second Treatment?

This depends on the severity and type of infestation:

• Lice (Haematopinus suis): A single treatment is almost always sufficient because lice spend their entire life cycle on the pig. A second treatment is rarely needed.
• Mild mange: One treatment is usually sufficient for mild or recently acquired infestations.
• Severe sarcoptic mange: A second application 2 weeks after the first is recommended. Sebacil kills live mites and lice but does not reliably penetrate mite eggs (ova). Retreating at 2 weeks catches the newly hatched mites before they reach reproductive maturity and spread further through the herd.

Withdrawal Period
